The Devil Came on Horseback

The Devil Came On HorsebackThe Devil Came On Horseback was an eyeopening, shocking, disturbing and horrific documentary about the true occurrences of what is happening RIGHT NOW in the Darfur region of Sudan.

If you want to understand the BACKGROUND of the entire “situation,” please go and read the link. Education and awareness is the first step.

You can read HERE the latest information about what is happening and what is being ATTEMPTED to stop this from continuing.

I just feel lost in the entire situation.

How can we sit idly by and watch thousands of innocent people die a month. This is mass murder by its own government. When you get down to the basics it is the Sudanese Muslim Government allowing and paying for the Janjaweed militia to go after and kill, mutilate, rape and run away every black non-Muslim Sudanese man, woman, and child from the country. It is an ethnic cleansing.

Here is small clip of the movie.

The problem is that we are not touched by it daily. It is easy to escape. It is easy to forget. It easy to turn our heads and pretend it is not happening. How can we get it across to the people of the Free World that this cannot go on any longer?

After the credits rolled, I sat there in shock.

I was quiet and sat there with my hands over my face. I knew this was happening. I was “aware” of the situation. But the saying, a picture is worth a thousand words, could not describe the situation any more perfectly. The photographs of dead children, the photographs of burnt bodies, the photographs of skulls crushed, the photographs of mass graves, of burnt villages, of thousands of displaced humans was more than I could bear. And I was sitting in an air-conditioned movie theater eating popcorn and washing it down with a Diet Coke. I was ashamed.

I was desperately trying to figure out a way to describe the situation to my friends. How could I describe it in a way that they could connect, that they could truly understand?

So I thought what would happen if our own United States Government decided to cleanse the nation. What if our Government not only supported, but paid the KKK, Skin Heads, the Aryan Nation to systematically rid the nation of all non-white citizens? Every Asian, African, Latino, Muslim, Jewish, NON-WHITE , person would be murdered. They would go house to house, pull us out of our homes, kill our husbands, our sons, rape us, and our daughters, or just kill us on the spot. Then they would burn our houses down and take our cars or burn them too. They would do this in every neighborhood, in every city, in every state, until we were all dead or outside the borders. Then, our United States, would not allow the United Nations to come in and protect us, to give us food aide and medical care. The worst part is that our local police departments responsibility would be to protect us, but they didn’t have the power to.

Let’s say we survived the mass murders.

We ran through the night, hiding and made it to Canada. This is not our home, we have no land, and no family. The United Nations sets up camp for us. We then live in tents with strangers. The men can’t go and get water or wood for the fire. Why? Because the KKK is still around lurking. If they see our men leaving camp, they will kill them on the spot. So we must go out. Everyday we must walk for miles to get the wood for fire and water to live. But we are raped. We are not killed, we are raped everyday. And this goes on for four years. There is still no light at the end of the tunnel. We still cannot go back home, even though we are Americans. We are refugees.

Could you imagine this happening?

This is what is happening. It has been happening everyday for the past four years. I am going to do more research and see what I can do to not only raise awareness but to be heard by our Representatives, by our President, and our World’s Nations.

I hope you join me.

There are simply no words… None.
I cannot fathom it – I don’t want to fathom it and yet, it is real. And we can – we must – do something.

I don’t understand why we as a country have not taken action against these atrocities. It’s unforgivable. Simply unforgivable.
