Unconditional Love

Mother and ChildUnconditional Love

For those that have had it; for those who can give it …. a fortunate blessing!

Unconditional Love is that with no strings, no requirements of behaviors or actions, no conditions, nor any expectations. It is a love that knows nothing but embrace.

It’s not only love in the good times. It’s love in the bad times too. It doesn’t cost money – just heart.

I think of the love between a mother and child when they have unconditional love shared. When Baby cries through the night and Mom is sleep deprived… there is love.  When Mom can’t provide enough food to completely fill the bellies… there is love.  When Teenager comes home with another hole in the ear… there is love. When Mom slides into ‘friend’ role when parent is needed… there is love.

Unconditional love does not mean that everything the person does you will love. Nor accept or approve. But the bond remains and there is no question of faithfulness.

I’ve been blessed to both receive and share unconditional love. It’s an amazing feeling. I’m saddened to realize that everyone has not experienced it – on either side. That needs to change – change with you first… try giving someone love with no strings, it feels good !

And so many times it’s just being willing to suspend judgment and give the benefit of the doubt “just because”.
