As the end of the calendar year approaches, it is time for Mothers Fighting For Others Year-End Campaign. Whether it is in the spirit of the season or making sure you make those tax-deductible contributions before the year ends, we here at MFFO simply ask that you include us in the charities you donate to at this time.

In the 11 years that MFFO has been in existence, we have worked to educate approximately 50 orphaned and impoverished girls a year in Kenya.

We pride ourselves in the fact that we have had over 40 girls graduate from High school. Currently we have 27 girls who have finished college or are in college or a trade school. We could not be more proud of our girls and their commitment to learn and improve their lives. 

This year has been especially challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The girls were sent home from their boarding schools back to St Monica Children’s Home where they have stayed until being sent back to their schools. There are only two computers in the home and the internet is very expensive in Kenya. Because of this there was no online classrooms to continue classes for the girls. The girls were sent back to school in October to finish their school year. The good news is that no one got sick and all of the staff and the girls are healthy. 

COVID-19 has also altered our ability for fundraising. We are an all- volunteer organization where 99% of our monies go to the education of the girls. We only pay for professional yearend tax returns/accounting services.
